The Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort is among four inaugural recipients of a Diamond Award by the International Association of Golf Tourism Operators (IAGTO).
The award, conferred at the Asia Golf Tourism Convention in Hainan, China in late March, follows an audit of more than 250 golf courses and resorts worldwide, which assessed the appeal of member courses and resorts to first-time golf visitors.
Nirwana GC joined another Greg Norman-designed course, Danang Golf Club in Vietnam, as well Mission Hills Haikou and Mission Hills Shenzhen in receiving the inaugural IAGTO Diamond Awards.
The Pan Pacific Nirwana Resort opened in 1994 and is the only course in South East Asia named in the 2014 US Golf Digest list of the top 100 courses in the world.
It offers five spectacular oceanside holes at Tanah Lot on Bali’s southern coast and also plays beside and among rice paddies, providing one of the most unique multi-faceted layouts in the region.
Nirwana’s general manager Ivan Casadavell (Nirwana) accepted the award at a gala dinner during the AGTC event.
