Situated on the Bukit Peninsula, New Kuta GC is Bali’s newest golf course. The Ronald Fream-designed links-style par-72 layout features scenic oceanfront and challenging inland holes.

It is set within the rapidly developing Pecatu Indah Resort area above a soaring limestone cliff overlooking the stunning Dreamland and Balangan beaches and is less than 30 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai Airport.

Playing 7471 yards (6831 metres) from the back tees (6975 yards/6378 metres from the gold tees and 6561 yards/6000 metres from the blues), the front nine is in a natural tropical lowland setting with creeks, long grasses, scrub and creepers. The back nine is on the spectacular ocean side of the course, with three holes – 14, 15 and 16 – providing excellent ocean views. The short par-3 15th, known as the Cliffhanger, is the signature hole on the edge of the ocean. Seashore paspalum fairways and greens are always presented in excellent condition.

A large clubhouse with open-air restaurant and bar is ideal for relaxing after the game.

A PLAYER’S EXPERIENCE

“I first played New Kuta some years back just after the European PGA-sanctioned Men’s and Ladies Indonesian Opens. Wow, this gave me a real appreciation of just how good these players really are. The course was set up tough, lightning fast greens, narrow fairways , 7cm rough –add an afternoon sea breeze – almost soul-destroying for a 15 handicapper like me. More recently I have played this ever changing course set up in, “anyone can play this course” mode just as the wet season ends. Wonderful golf, staggering views of the “impossible” surf break, Dreamland and Balangan beaches, great condition, medium-paced greens, excellent undulating fairways, long enough from the appropriate tees, strategically-placed fairway bunkers – a totally different experience. That’s the beauty of this course: it changes depending on the season and how the obviously astute management set it up to meet  different players’ needs of the time. It can be a monster or it can be a fun hit and giggle for the less intense golfer. All around are signs of a continuous commitment to improving the golfing experience – fairway maintenance, teams of caddie training classes and assessment testing, first class pro instruction, clubhouse cleaning, first-rate starter organisation and excellent food and beverages.I can’t wait to return and see how this course will present next time. New Kuta Golf will surprise you every time and you will want to return. The caddies are well trained, fun young people happy to be doing what they do … and that’s what holiday golf is all about, right?” ~Andrew, New Zealand.
