Formerly known as Bali Golf and Country Club, Bali National GC is located at Nusa Dua, a popular high-end tourism destination in the South Kuta area.
The original Robin Nelson/Rodney Wright design has been remodeled in a modern context with new fairways and green complexes. Most of the layout has retained its original design, except for dramatic new holes on 17 and 18, the former in the style of the island hole at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, and the latter bringing players towards a stylish, comfortable clubhouse overlooking the 18th green.
The par-5 16th hole with extensive bunkering down the left side, the tough par-3 17th with its island green and the beautiful par-4 18th with an approach shot over water, may well be the best three final holes in Asia.
The front nine is a par-35 that plays on undulating land away from the ocean. The back nine is on relatively flat land with a par-37 configuration that makes it especially challenging.
It plays 7166 yards (6552 metres) from the championship tees and 5923 yards (5416 metres) from the resort tees.
